WordPress has released the first beta of what, I assume, is going to be a historic 3.0 version. One of the most sought after features of combining WordPress MU and the normal edition of WordPress has been integrated into this edition. And among the other features a new default template for WordPress, Twenty Ten has been included.Although the overall feel of the previous versions have been retained, a simple and much clean white bar has replaced the older black navbar (at the top.)
Here are some screenshots:

A beta update is expected by next week. However you can try out the beta 1 by downloading it from here.

I’m so much excited with the launch of WordPress 3.0. Though since it’s beta release I’ll wait for a while to get the beta 2 and will install it on my live site.
My plan is to put all my WordPress blogs into one single MU, since I can use one plugin in all the blogs.
This will save lots of resources for my blog.
