Well just to slip in a quick tip here. If you’re getting the error ‘The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.’ , the solution is quite easy.

The error appears like this:

Use Microsoft 2010 For 6 Months [Without Activation]

Microsoft 2010 is just around the corner and is readying its final steps before it’s full-fledged release. Critics and fans all alike are raving about how great the newer version of the Office lineage will be better and path-changing. The download links for the fully-functional, trial version of Office 2010 have already gone live but comes with a 30 day-trial. How do you use it any longer? Read on.

Just follow the simple process mentioned below to use your Office 2010 version for an ‘extended’ 6 month period:

Locate this folder in your C:%Program Files% Common Filesmicrosoft shared OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform
Open OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform and click the tool named OSPPREARM
Alternatively, you can use the command prompt. Click Start, in the Search field, type cmd and do not press Enter. Amongst the results, you will see cmd.exe
Right click on the icon and click the Run as Administrator option. You should see the DOS black window.
Now type: C:Program FilesCommon Filesmicrosoft sharedOfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatformOSPPREARM.EXE

This will activate your Office 2010 for another other 30 days. You can repeat this technique 5 more times to extend your trial period to almost 6 months.

Microsoft Courier: The iPad Killer?

As details of Microsoft’s all new tablet computer, the Courier, the most heated discussions making rounds is about how it’s gonna be an Apple’s iPad killer. If the videos and specs available as of now are anything to be believed, then Microsoft has got a revolutionary device that could well leave the iPad far, far behind in comparison.

The video below shows some of the features that the Courier could be housing:

Some of the features available as of now are:

A dual-screen iPad-like device that’s powered by Nviia’s Tegra 2 processor and come with Windows CE 6.
It will be less than 25mm thich and roughly 13x18mm when closed.
It will weigh just over 500 g and is also said to come with an ARM-based processor and a phone-like OS (the same that powers the ZuneHD) rather than Windows 7.
The Courier will come with a stylus and support handwriting recognition plus a webcam and a headphone socket.
A dedicated platform for its ebook tablet or digital journal. This possibly means something similar to Apple’s iBookstore.

Of course all these features are great and many wars may be going on between the Apple and Microsoft fans, but one other heated debate is that whether MS can provide all the features as shown in the videos without any problems, what with the XBox 360 hardware glitches, delay in release of Windows 7 and many other such cases (Microsoft Surface anyone?)

Well the ball is in their court and the onus is on Microsoft to deliver this time, nothing can be said as of now, except wait and watch!
