Well this is strictly rumors, but there are reports that RIM, the makers of BlackBerry, could be bringing their propriety instant messaging application, the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) to Android as well as iPhone.

Whats BBM?
You can say its an advanced messaging system, used over a data plan in your phone. Formally saying, BBM is a instant messaging application run by RIM, where you can share messages, images, videos etc. Its exclusively limited to the BlackBerry phones because messages are exchanged using the BlackBerry PIN system.

What good would it be to RIM?
That’s the main question that struck me as well. Why would RIM put out their flagship program out, when its the main feature that pulls in many to them??

Well some reports do state that RIM would release a lower-featured BBM for the android and iPhone markets, while all the features would only be enabled on a BB device. So in turn they’ll be attracting more customers to them! Smart marketing strategy.

While these reports aren’t confirmed of yet, we do hope it’ll be true.

If you would like to have the BBM kind of messaging app on your iPhone or Android you could try out WhatsApp, PingChat or LiveProfile.

Blogger finally added multiple image uploading tool to blogger that uses flash for uploading. The other addition is that there is also an option to add images from your Picasa Album’s directly from the image uploader.

Although such image uploading capability was available much earlier in Blogger’s main competitor, WordPress, the recent upgrade in WordPress that gave users to crop scale and edit their image online must have forced blogger to rethink some ideas.

Although this tool has been released into blogger, users can only access this by going to draft.blogger.com. BTW the web-world was all about comments of blogger ‘catching-up to wordpress.’

First post of the year on TWR, and any Google fanboy (including me!) would find this one like music to their ears. Taking into consideration the statistics for the last three months (Oct – Dec 09, it appears that Chrome, from Google, has overtaken Apple’s Safari in the ever-competitive browser wars.

A look into the global stats provided by statcounter shows how Chrome has clearly overtaken Safari:

The (3rd) green bar indicates Chrome while the (4th) blackish one below it represents Safari. At the time of posting their share in the browser market was 4.78% and 3.54% respectively.

Another image, from theappleblog also states a similar story:

One of the major reasons for this increase was that Chrome had been released for Mac, thereby stealing Apple’s monopoly in the Mac’s browser market. Also the coming-out-of-beta of Chrome for Linux has helped it. The newly released themes and extensions have also helped its cause. Last but not the least, it’s a Google product!

But all’s not bad for Apple. Their share in the mobile OS segment just got strengthened even more, with the iPhone OS increasing its market share.
